Image
The last week at Sarvodaya Vidyala. On 8th of August, I took 'Double Circulation' at 9A. The learning strategy used were ICT-Activity integrated method. Students had a little difficulty in the topic, but soon I was able to get them on track.  On 10th of August, I took 'To Control Pests', 'Waste Management & Sustainable Development' on 8A. Here too I used ICT effectively to deliver the content. On the topic 'to control pest and use of chemcal pesticides' I used the tragic event of Endosulfan disaster happened at Kasargod as an evidence and used sone conscientization points too. It was effective since students never forget the points they studied when taught with an example of real life incident. In between this week I was able to conduct a small test on these students.  In between this week there held Onam Celebration for the Kindergarten session and we were also invited to watch their program. We found some time to watch their events. It was enterta

Since my allotted portions are almost over, I planned to conduct the Achievement Test  on 25th July at 9A. A total of 38 students have appeared for the exam, the rest of the students were on an NCC Camp and will only be back on the 2nd week of August. Since the schedule was a little tight I conducted this on this selected day. Also this was the busiest week of all. Because the school youth festival was on 26th and 27th. The event was officially inaugurated by Ardhra Sajan, Lay BeatBoxer and an ex-student of Sarvodaya Vidyala. She inaugurated the event and performed her talent i.e, beatboxing. It was inspiring for all the growing talents at school. Students were really interested in her talents and showed interest in learning.   The classes were temporarily suspended for a while because of this and obviously I was not able to take my classes. We were assigned with different duties during and before the festival. It was a busy schedule, but we were able to learn and experience a lot of

The school schedule were a little bit more crowded than before, because the school youth festival is approaching. We were asked to help teachers with the screening procedures, writing the mark list paper for judges etc.  Fortunately these tasks barely overlapped with our class time. So we were abke to adjust in between for duties, substitutions as well as classes. It was a good experience learning time management with team work. On 19th of July, I concluded the chapter 'Food through Digestive tract' with the topic 'Improve Food Quality & Keep Diseases Away.' I taught the importance of our digestive system and why we should keep it healthy and about Roughage. There I concluded the chapter and then I started the next chapter too. The third chapter was 'Simple Nutrients Into Cells.' I begun the chapter with the topics 'Components Of Blood, Plasma'  and concluded the class by introducing the topic 'Heart.'  On 20th July, I had class in the 8th

I completed 5 lesson plans at 9A bcasue I got 2 periods from the class. The portions I took were 'Absorption Begins', Simple and Facilitated Diffusion', 'Osmosis', 'Active Transport', &  'In and Out of Large Intestine.'  From these topics I also demonstrated diffusion in the class to make them more interested towards the topic and it was success. This week I didn't get any classes for the 8th standard.

Heading to week 3 as well as to a new month, we had much more busy schedule than before. This week I completed 'Saliva and Digestion', 'Food through Oesophagus', 'Food inside Small Intestine', 'Liver and Pancreas'  at 9A. I got 2 periods atr 9A, so I was able to complete my 4 lesson plans smoothly and thus was able to makeup for the lost classes last week. I used AV aids  along with the ICT teaching. The students were active throughout the classes. At 8A, I was able to cover 'Plant Tissues' with 5E Model, and concluded the chapter. Then I introduced the next chapter i.e, 'Let's Regain Our Fields' with the topic 'For a prosperous future.' Since the chapter is dealing with how our farms have deteriorated during the course of modernisation I included several events of our past years and what lead to the depletion of our famrs and all. The children were more than interested in this topic so it was easy for me to proceed with my

The week was busier than the 1st week. We were able to get into the track of  an intern. We had our classes in accordance with the time table and took them accordingly.  This week had 2 holidays on 28th and 29th (Bakrid), where I lost my only two classes of the week. So I prepared my lesson plans and planned my project. Other than that I had substitutions to attend to. 26th of June is The International Day Against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking (or World Drug Day),  and the students conducted a flashmob announcing the ill effects of drug abuse.  We, the interns conducted a conscientization program for the students about the importance of the day and about the ill effects of drug. We also conducted a poster making competition & slogan writing competition on the LP & UP sessions we got substituted to and conscientized about the day.
