L'espoir day 3
Getting into the third day of the camp, which was the busiest day of the camp. The day was assigned to group 3 Insaniyat , which I belonged to. As the last day we woke at almost 5.45am and after freshening up we had a cup of black tea, our morning energizer ;) Since it's our group's duty day, we the Insaniyat members got ready at 7.30am and walked to our college to set the breakfast as well as the registration procedures. We divided ourselves into several groups and divided the tasks. When one group went to wash the dishes another group went to arrange stage and other group helped the people in cooking and the other group started the registration procedures.
When the clock striked 8.30am almost most of the students came to the college, after signing the register they went to have their breakfast. The first program of the day were a art session which was lead by Bipin. R, Research scholar & Theater activist. He has reached the college at sharp 10.00 am.By the time the students were assembled at the auditorium we welcomed the guest. He gave a brief about the theater performance and its difference with cinemas. He also quoted that 'films are the arts of director whereas drama or stage performance is the art of actors.' Sir also mentioned its importance and why it is soo interesting. After the talking session sir told us to get off from our chairs and to stand freely followed by several activities and plays. It was really interesting and there ain't an ounce of time for us to get bored. Towards the end of the session sir grouped the whole class and assigned different subjects to each groups and then asked us to prepare a drama prior to the given topic within 7 min of planning. Most of us doesn't had previous experiences in preparing and acting a drama, so at first we were tensed but not for long. With a thorough group work we were able to prepare something small within 7min and we presented it. It was fun as well as unlocked a hidden talent in most of the students =D
Time flew by. We the group 3 members reached the ground floor before the other students for setting the lunch. Within the allotted time we were able to serve the lunch and clean the dishes before 2.00pm. There was a competition lead by Maya teacher at 2.00pm which focused on the creativity from the waste materials. The competition period was half an hour.
From 2.30pm - 4.00pm it was time for the group wise cultural events. We prepared various types of cultural event in the program and enjoyed it together. It was followed by 15min tea break. After that it was time for creativity corner, 4.15pm- 5.30am. It was about preparing paper files which was lead by Greeshma Gireesan & Nimmy Joseph. The students were grouped and were taught about the paper-file making.
The session from 5.30pm- 7.00pm was handled by Dr. Vaishakan Thampi, Asst. Professor Dept of Physics, MG College. Sir talked about 'humanity and science.' It was a great talk where sir unleashed the bitter truth on the hidden sides of human from a long time ago and the way the word 'humanity' is sugercoated until this day. He also talked about tribalism, difference between democracy & mobocracy etc. He also mentioned that the weakness in democracy or the weakest link in democracy is none other than the people. The talk ended early than the allotted time and the rest of the time were taken for the interactive session. the session, rather than informative it was a reality-check.
After the session there was a campfire organized. It was fun. Everyone shook a leg on the beat relieved from all the stresses and daily routine. After that we had dinner. And then we got back to our rooms and freshened up and then hit the bed.
